When I just took the first glimpse of this game, I immediately decided to blog about it.

THE GAME
As you would know, Mario Games are Pure Adventure!
This game is the latest new continuation of Mario Forever & boy, The Sound is really awesome.When you'll play this game, you'll feel like So Good!
Immediately after commencing to play this game, you'll feel out of this world. But the sound of the game & funny talks with the princess & others & even Mario's sounds are adorable
The game-play is also brilliant. You'll have to fight your way, as Mario, through Forests & sometimes even underwater, beating the monsters, that prevent you from accomplishing your mission.
Your Adventure will be through 8 Large Maps. So this game will not be a small deal. And I forgot to add, all of them will be consisting of many secret stages, offering you bonuses.You'll also have various cool powers, like tanooki, bomberman, Boomer-Man, Wegetable Super Power, Power star, Power Clock, Fire flower, etc.And yes, as always, the game will be full of jumping across gaps.
But don't worry, as it is said, Old is Gold, old Mario features have also been preserved: getting down through pipes, finding secret stages, etc.
This game will be a complete new challenge, consisting of Hybrid of Old Mario Game, New Features (like powerups) added & Cool Sounds.
All the 3 Things (Old features, New Features & Sound) make this game excellent.
The best thing I loved was synchronization with the modern world. Like Princess makes a comment that, "We'll click pics & upload to Facebook!". LOL.
And all of that is available for Free! Isn't it wonderful. So I'd say, go for it, try it, it's free & see for yourself, whether you like it / not.
DOWNLOAD & INSTALL
Here, I'll teach you how to download it, along with some methods to resolve General issues faced by users, while downloading this game.
1. First-up here are the links to download the 1.2 MB online installer, from one of the best websites:

2. After Downloading the online Installer, run it & go through the setup processes, by clicking "Next." Make sure to check only those ticks, that you want.
For example, if you don't wanna install the browser toolbar, Uncheck it.
After that, Let it download 15 parts game i.e. about 70 MB Setup.
Note: If you've downloaded the game once & want to re-install it, don't worry, don't download it again, simply run the 70 MB Setup, that was downloaded by the Online Installer.
3. After the downloading part, install the game & while Running it, RUN IT AS ADMINISTRATOR, by Right-Clicking the game icon.
If you don't Run it as Administrator, it'll generate an error, which happened with me.
4. The Default Keyboard Controls are:
Left- Left Arrow
Right- Right Arrow
Down- Down Arrow
Up- Up Arrow
Jump-Z
Fire-X
5. The slower PCs might not be able to run this game. For doing some experiment on running the game, in these PCs, you can go-to the properties of the Main .exe file & make some compatibility changes.

DeleteI just downloaded New Super Mario Brothers Forever, and I see no way to quit the game. I tried hitting the escape key, but that doesn't bring up the quit screen. When I first launch the game, I see a screen with options and start game and quit, but how do I get back to that screen to quit the game once the game is in play? I try to click the close x box (the windows exit x in the upper right hand corner, but that won't work either. What is the proper way to escape from game play to the quit screen? I can only use control alt delete and end by going to task manager. Please help! Thanks

DeleteExiting a game properly is a very important task & you are right, paying some attention on it, because otherwise save files could damage.
In New Super Mario Forever 2012. I exit by pressing the "Escape" button. It exits instantly & then triggers the game's webpage. So I think it's the right way.
But in your case, the Escape Key doesn't function, right? Also, does using Task Manager to exit it, corrupt the save data?
Thanks for your reply! I was just not used to the game, but my escape key is working fine, and I can now play the game. I have a two year old grandson that will get a kick out of watch me play this game. If I need any other questions answered, I go to your website again. Still having problems. I got to a level called the mushroom house and when I get killed it say either continue or quit. If I hit quit, mario just bends down with a bunch of stars circling over his head and it just freezes. If I hit escape nothing will happen. If I chose the option to continue, the game would have continued to play. But when I hit quit, it always freezes. Then I hit control alt delete and end task to end the game. When I relaunch the game, my progress is saved, but this continues to be a problem. I have ab intel core i5 -2400 cpu 3.10 Ghz speed, 8.00 Gigs of memory with lots of hard drive space, 500 gigs of space. I run Windows 7 pro 64 bit. Any idea why I'm having such problems quitting the game? Thanks for advice.

I don't think there's a problem from your side, because your PC specs. seem to be very good for the game. There should be some bugs in the game itself, since it's fan-made game.
So, My Opinion: Even with glitches, if the game works for you & you are somehow able to go ahead, it should be fine.
New super mario forever 2012 is a good game but level ghost house on water 3-7 is a very very very bad game it cannot be completed

DeleteI cannot assure you about the issue, since I myself have reached the second level (the underground level) & it runs like a charm. I think you should try to re-install the game, without downloading again, see the "Note" given in the article. But before that, you can try the following:
In case you're playing in Window mode (you would see the borders), make sure the window is selected (click on the top title bar).
Also you can try to change options a little, like changing fullscreen, to see if that rectfies the problem.
If you use Fullscreen, try the window mode & click on the top title bar the time, when the game freezes, to see if mario moves now.
I hope your issue gets resolved!

DeleteGame saves are located within three files:
Deletedata\gfx\beetlee.jpg
data\gfx\beetlee_h.jpg
data\gfx\beetlee_m.jpg
Those files are not images (JPEG). They are binary files, contains settings, game saves.
If you want to play game from the beginning - you can copy these files from clean install to your gamedir.
I found how to increase number of lives.
Just open data\gfx\beetlee_h.jpg file with your favourite hex editor, then go to file offset FA4, and change it to FF. Run game - you will have 255 lives :)

can anyone tell me where is the save file and i am stuck in world 5 cloudland even though i completed that flying ship level and also beat bowser's servent .for some time i reached world 6 pirrania land and then the next time i started the game i was stuck in world 5 . anyone has a solution for this

ReplyDeleteI had the same problem, how to enter to castle 2-14 again. Well if you enter to the castle first time, then you fail inside it, you cannot enter again. But just after fail you may see that flying ship escapes from castle somewhere on the map path. All you have to do is go through the path to find flying ship. Just touch it on the path to enter last level again. At the end flying ship level you will have to defeat monster, and if you win, you will complete this map. That's all. You do not have to enter to castle 2-14 anymore.
